Wicked Love - The Maria Corp Story was an Australian TV movie starring Vince Colosimo and Rebecca Gibney. This true crime story was produced under the working title of Credence at Fox Studios and aired during February on Channel 9.
Film Vehicles provided the 'hero' car, a bright red VT Commodore in tough-guy mode, a tidy VY Commodore as a detectives car, and the Suzuki Vitara shown on the page - Listing Your Vehicle.
Film Vehicles located a pristine Holden Monaro GTS 307 that was rented from its owner for the Telstra TV commercial I'll just get your mother. The director was Gregor Jordan, well known for the film Two Hands starring Heath Ledger and featuring decent Aussie muscle cars such as Pando's XB coupe (now owned by Merrick Watts). Famous cars seem to attract famous people.
The Monaro was chosen in a classic style to match actor John Jarratt, who was in top form on-set even delivering a scary 'Wolf Creek' one-liner! The owner watched on while director Gregor, actor John, and the crew made it happen.
The Valiant Safari wagon that appeared in The Black Balloon also features in a new short film Whiteline to be released at film festivals later this year. A vehicle known to look good on camera gets work more easily - as with actors.
Written and directed by Craig Rasmus while still at production company Film Construction. The cast includes Brendan Maclean who broadcasts for youth station Triple J, Daniel Lissing with appearances on Home and Away and 'Packed to the Rafters', and John-Paul McElwee who has appeared in a few TV commercials in 2009 and will star in the upcoming short film Hide and Seek from Standoutfilms.
The Black Balloon was the first feature for supermodel Gemma Ward, an also starred Toni Collette, Luke Ford, Rhys Wakefield, and Eric Thomson - onset here for the wheelchair scene. The Valiant Safari was the family car.
Featured vehicles included an XP Falcon coupe, and more modest cars to suit the neighbourhood such as a VL wagon, Ford Laser and Telstar, a Mitsubishi Magna, and even a school bus - rented from a community church for two weeks straight. The film won six AFI awards including Best: Film, Direction, Original Screenplay, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, and Editing.
Film Vehicles coordinated for the big budget TV Commercial that launched Coca-Cola Zero. We sourced over 70 privately owned cars, including those below in the 'traffic jam' on the Old Glebe Island bridge. Notably, not a single vehicle had to be delivered to location by tilt-tray.
The starring Mercedes bus was rented from a local busline, and with approval, wrapped in removable 3M™ vinyl and rigged by the stunt guys. The script required three Holden Commodores marked-up as police cars. Also just making the final cut is a convertible Shelby Mustang and a show standard AC Cobra replica. Frank Campisi from CineCars provided three vehicles to help us out on such a busy shoot. The director Paul Middleditch always has a big vision and is well known for beer ads including the Fosters - Carlton Draught Big Ad and Flashbeer.
Matt Worth was part of the action vehicles team on Superman Returns. The filming budget was over $200M,
the vehicle budget over a million dollars. The team The team built and ran a core of 70 vehicles including six identical Ford Mustangs.
There were over 10 police cars, 2 police motorcycles, 20 taxis, five buses, an ambulance, several TV vans, and even two identical pre-production Audis flown by 747-400 from Germany. The production rented over 100 privately owned cars for
various scenes, including the opener at the mansion that featured a selection of expensive classics.
